Kathy took us around Rockport showing us various properties that were exactly what we were looking for. When we didn't find "the one" she went home that day and sent a carefully curated list that fit our requirements. She was patient, qualified, and professional. The agent showed us a property in the Rockport area. She informed me that we could not rent a two bedroom, since my two children (4 year old boy and 1 year old girl) could not share a room. When I asked why not, she said they do not let any renters allow boy and girl siblings share rooms. I asked for a reason behind this policy, as it seems incredibly invasive, and she got very defensive and told me it was a Texas State Law. This is NOT a state law, nor is it a policy implemented by any other rental properties we have looked at. I do not mind there being rules, but for ones as invasive as that, they should have factual reasons that can be shared with potential renters. We will not be using this company due to the attitude and lack of truth shown by the agent who helped us.
