Masami Japanese Sushi & Cuisine

The sushi here was great. They had Toro available and it was excellent. We will definitely be back. The donuts are a nice touch at the end. Because this place is a gem it is very busy and a little cramped.

This is probably the best autentic Japanese food I've had in the US. We ordered yakitori, karage, nabeyaki udon, salt and pepper grilled cod, and Alaskan roll. Every thing was so so delicious! The highlight was Sakura mochi! The last time I had Sakura mochi was in Japan! Everything was so good....I will go back there again for sure!

Authentic and excellent! Not flashy and not hyped as the locals keep it quiet for a reason - selfish delight! Former resident and I miss going to Japan. When in the Metroplex I'll drive to Masami! They tend to have my favorites including Kanpachi, real Toro, smoked Unagi and more. The cuts are generous, higher grade fish than most sushi served in the metroplex. Only one disappointment. They began to take and then denied fulfilling To-Go order. Not exactly GrubHub when you drop by to order and wait. Not waiting for a table especially when I am taking food to friends.

Took the family here on Sunday for dinner. Masami is in our top three favorite Japanese spots in Richardson. We had some dobin mushi, salmon cheeks, homemade donuts, smelt fish, rolls for the kids and salmon sashimi. If you're near the area, I highly encourage you to give them a try. *It's a cozy atmosphere. I'd suggest making reservations, especially on the weekends. **Special dining room is available-sunken table where you sit in a traditional atmosphere.
