Working at Atascosa Health Center, Inc. has been nothing short of a nightmare. From day one, it became apparent that the organization is run by Monty Small and his cronies with an iron fist, resembling more of a dictatorship rather than a functional workplace. The lack of competent leadership has created an atmosphere of fear, frustration, and utter disappointment. One of the most glaring issues at Atascosa Health Center is the complete absence of effective leadership. Monty Small and his management team lack the basic qualities that one would expect from leaders empathy, communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire their employees. Instead, they rule through fear and intimidation, squashing any semblance of creativity or autonomy among the staff. The toxic work environment perpetuated by this autocratic leadership style has resulted in an unproductive and demoralized workforce. Employees are constantly walking on eggshells, fearing retribution for voicing their opinions or suggesting improvements. The lack of open communication channels further exacerbates the problems, leaving employees in the dark about important decisions that affect their roles and the organization as a whole. Moreover, Atascosa Health Center, Inc. is plagued by a severe lack of opportunities for professional growth and development. With a leadership team that refuses to acknowledge the potential and talents of their employees, there is little room for advancement or skill enhancement. This not only stifles individual career trajectories but also hampers the organization's ability to innovate and evolve. Monty Small's autocratic approach to management has led to an atmosphere of mistrust and resentment among employees. The disregard for their well-being is palpable, with little to no consideration given to work-life balance or the mental and emotional toll of working under such oppressive conditions. The turnover rate at the organization speaks volumes about the disregard for employee satisfaction and welfare. In conclusion, Atascosa Health Center, Inc. is undoubtedly a horrendous place to work, primarily due to the tyrannical management style of Monty Small and his lackluster leadership team. The workplace culture is toxic, employees are undervalued, and opportunities for growth are practically non-existent. Anyone considering employment at this organization should proceed with extreme caution, as the environment is more reminiscent of a dictatorship than a nurturing and progressive workplace.

I gave 3 stars. I see Dr. Mona for thyroid issues. While I haven't experienced the rudeness from anyone, as others are experiencing, or long wait times; I gave 3 stars because I do feel Dr. Mona could do a better job at looking outside the box a little in terms of diagnosis of concerns. That being said, I struggled between a 3 or 4 star review. The staff has always been friendly, timely, and I always get my blood work results the next day. (I have to have a blood draw every three months to check my thyroid levels). I have great insurance and didn't know it was a low income clinic until after I started going. That being said, I haven't had a horrible experience and I continue to go there and have for 3 years.

Really crazy. But when this staff sees so many people and patients, but they still have time to call you by name, and walk over to hug you. That means so much when a patient like myself so sick and always in pain gets a hug. LOVE ALL OF YOU...
