Took great care of my husband. Ran scans and many tests to find out what was wrong. Hard workers, friendly Dr's and nurses and everyone else.

I am saddened and concerned with how I was treated on April 5 at this facility. I arrived approximately around 5 oclock in the morning, thinking I was either having a heart attack or a stroke. Initially, the overnight staff was supportive and helpful with empathy. They knew what they were doing. I was put in a bed, and then around 7am there was a shift change. This is when the nightmare began. The doctor coming on duty was named Doctor Hudson, and the nurse coming on duty was Heather. Heather seemed somewhat nice, but a little bit short and firm with me. When Dr. Hudson came in the room, I told him my symptoms and that I knew something was wrong. His face showed somewhat of a comical appearance as if he wasnt taking me serious. He then had the audacity to say, If we run all these tests and they come back negative, then what? I told him I dont know, but I was thinking to myself hes the medical professional and Im laying here scared for my life. That was an unnecessary comment to a patient. I was not allowed to drink or eat anything. I literally had no fluids from the time I entered until I was discharged around 4 oclock in the afternoon. I asked for an IV bag about halfway through the day, and the nurse Heather said well the doctor didnt order that so I cant get you one. I also told Heather more than once that it felt hard to breathe when I laid back. She kept saying my oxygen levels looked fine and to just take deep breaths. I told her once again I could not take a deep breath because it felt like I couldnt. This did nothing but make my anxiety worse. I took pictures with my phone of my vitals throughout the day, and over five times my oxygen level dropped to around 85 to 88. However, Heather told me she kept looking and that my oxygen never dropped. Well, I have proof that it did. Not to mention that the machine buzzer kept going off every time it dropped. After being denied an IV, I was thinking to myself Im on multiple medications, and my kidneys and liver need fluids. My urine was dark yellow when I left the facility. How can you let a patient lay in a bed for almost 13 hours with absolutely no fluids or an IV? It was also extremely cold in my room. I hit the nurse call button, and this rude Lady named Joyce answered. I asked for an extra blanket, and she said OK, but I never received one. Lastly, I had an MRI done with iodine contrast. The really nice lady who did the MRI procedure said if Im allergic to iodine and I would know immediately when she injected me with it. I had the procedure and was fine. Its now 1:30 in the morning on April 6, and I have a hot and extremely red rash all across my neck growing towards my chest. The only medication I was given at the hospital that Ive never had before was the iodine contrast. Im a little irritated that I was not given an expectation this could be a delayed averse reaction. I may have to go back to the ER because Im also feeling dizzy. I appreciate being cared for, but not the way I was treated with this facility. I would rather drive further and get taken care of properly.

Horrible experience with this hospital. Staff is somewhat nice but just barely. Cafeteria is horrible. You can't use cash to make a purchase only credit or debit cards. On the patient floors there is no water and ice machine that family can use, you have to ask a staff member for water which takes forever. I am shocked for a major hospital system the Plano hospital is just horrible. Next time we have to go to a hospital it will not be at a Baylor Scott and White facility. I will go to UT Southwest hospital. They are just awesome there. Baylor could take some lessons from UT Southwest they treat family and patients like King and Queens there.
