I believe that police officers have a duty to their community. They have responsibilities and challenges that most people can't even imagine, and that makes them respectable and honorable in my eyes. There are some incidences that I wish were better handled however. I hope that the matter about the animal abuse will be handled well and transparently. Police officers have a duty to protect life and it should include compassion for animals, especially pets. A life was lost unnecessarily because the deputy who had the power to protect it failed to do his duty of making sure that life is protected. Please give an update on the status of what happened to the owners who shot their dog after it was left frozen outside in 15 degree weather and an update on the deputy who failed to ask questions on whether or not those animal abusers should have their dog back to abuse and kill. I hope it's not the norm.
