Schobels Restaurant

I'm not surprised this place is closed. Went here for breakfast buffet (didn't expect much but basic breakfast food is not that difficult) after a river trip and it was quite literally the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant. We were all so hungry and hungover that if the food were merely edible we would have thought it was a great meal. But and I am not over exaggerating at all, it was completely inedible. Biscuits hard as rocks, bacon slimy and under cooked, even the "scrambled" eggs were inedible cardboard, how do you even manage that? Not to mention the service and buffet was extremely poorly managed. This meal was so unequivocally awful that I'm sitting at work almost 3 years later thinking about it. Good riddance.

Saddest thing ever. It's closed. -- There is nothing like a home cooked meal when you are traveling through Texas. We adore the family recipes that you will find on their buffet that changes every time we visit. This place is a gem and is worth stopping at!

Run don't walk. Took an hour to order off the menu. Food arrived and it was terrible. Ordered Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was from a powdered mix. Black hair in my food. Had to ask the manager to come over even though he was aware we waited and hour. Then he was angry and he made it our fault. Just really all around awful, need new management. Will never go back.
