Predatory Law Practices! I retained Melissa Mozingo in October of 2020 for a simple divorce. I paid the $4000 retainer and was told by Melissa that my case would be finished within 3 months. I paid my invoices each month in a timely manner but still had to follow up with my attorney regarding the status of my case most times. It has now taken me an entire year to get my divorce due to all of the fluffing, padding and extending my case for the financial benefit of Melissa Mozingo and this law firm. Melissa did not advocate for me. She was very passive with my case but also was very aggressive with her legal fees each month. Melissa failed to communicate the details of my case. I asked her for a hearing regarding issues involving my house. She emailed me that she had filed for an emergency temporary hearing. Then, sent me an email days before the hearing stating that she was sorry that she actually filed for a mediation instead. The miscommunication and billing became so aggressive that I tried talking to Bria Lawson regarding my issues with Melissa and her first resolution was to offer to withdraw from my case!!! This is after I had already paid over $15,000 into my case and on top of that they would keep my retainer! Melissa was soon released from the firm for unknown reasons and I was reassigned to a different attorney. Overall, I ended up being billed over $20,000 in invoices and now I am financially ruined! I feel that Melissa did not care about my life circumstances. She only cared about her bottom line which is getting your MONEY and lots of IT!
