Very shady operation. The office was located in a strip mall off of tenth and looked very nondescript. I went in there and I immediately got a bad vibe. There was no receptionist or front office, just a long hallway with a bunch of unmarked doors. It does not resemble a lawfirm at all. As soon as I got in, I started looking for my lawyer's office suite "D" (from the business card my lawyer gave me) I asked someone standing in a doorway talking to someone else if there if was room "D" and that I was trying to locate my lawyer and she responded, "Who are you?" "What do you want?" I explained I was trying to contact my lawyer because hecwas not returning my phone calls and I had court coming up, and I wanted to know if this was suite "D". A female standing there talking to someone, shouted, "Wayland, he's being rude". Then a very obnoxious nasty man in the adjoining room came out and yelled at me to "GET OUT!" This obnoxious nasty man then followed me outside into the parking lot where my mom was waiting in the car. He was saying expletives and following me outside. My lawyer works in that office and he refused to return my calls. I have court in two weeks; what am I supposed to do? My lawyer did not show up to my court hearing and I was assigned a new public defender by the judge. I complained to the public defenders office but they didn't know what to do. The lawyer I was assigned simply withdrew from my case without appearing in court. I touched base with my lawyer around six months prior to that, directly after my first court appearance. He was a public defender assigned to me by the public defender's office. We briefly touched base as he was leaving the courthouse and he told me he would contact me in a few months as the case came closer to court. He hadn't done anything. This "lawfirm" and its assortment of paralegals are one to avoid. Very unprofessional outfit, so one star.
