First off, I have to say, I think this place has lot's of potential. At the door, we were greeted by a young child, who they appear to be grooming for the family business. He was a sweet little gentleman and very respectful. As we entered, we were greeted again by the waitress. She was nice and very attentive throughout the entire visit. After we sat down, we noticed the carpet was extremely dingy and wet; as if there had been a flood or something. There were two sets of entry doors to the kitchen, both of which were filthy from top to bottom. The table cloth, although not filthy, has seen better days. In spite of this, we stayed. I ordered the fried pork chops with french fries and potato salad, and my partner ordered the catfish poboy with french fries. I enjoyed the pork chops very much. The potato salad wasn't bad, although it tasted store bought. There was nothing special about the fries, but then again I didn't expect there to be. My partner didn't particularly care for the catfish. She ate a couple of bites and could not stomach the rest. She thought it was too fishy, which is a sign that it is not fresh. I ended up giving her part of one of my pork chops. The waitress noticed she hadn't eaten her cat fish and inquired about it. She told her why she didn't care for the fish. The waitress went to the kitchen and reported to what seemed like the entire kitchen staff. They all gathered around our table and made various comments about the popularity of the catfish and how they had never heard that from any of their other customers. As a final thought, they did ask if she wanted something else. She declined, not expecting a refund or anything. We simply asked for our check because we were in a rush, and were told it was up at the register. When we got to the register, there was a waitress already up there, who completely ignored us and left us standing at the register once she finished whatever it was she was doing. A 2nd waitress went behind the register and she too ignored us until my partner asked about the bill. The total for our bill appeared to be lower than what we expected, so we can only assume that they took the catfish dinner off, but we were never told anything. We just sort of got the cold shoulder from the waitress who rung us up. Again, we did not ask for a refund, nor expect one, we never even mentioned that she did not like the fish until asked. So I don't understand the reason behind the attitude. If you are going to be in the restaurant business, you need to anticipate that not everyone will like your food. If you can't handle that, than you're in the wrong business.
