After reading reviews I was excited about going but it was aweful, couldn't eat it, the meat was rancid.

Our family of four dined here yesterday, and the staff provided outstanding service. We rarely dine out because we have two children under the age of five; our server was especially kind and patient with us! The service and food was provided quickly, and even my picky four year old enjoyed her meal. Van Loc's food is delicious! The vegetables are fresh, and the noodles are perfectly cooked.

UPDATE: Sadly, this great Vietnamese restaurant has closed. Authentic, scrumptious, and huge is what comes to my mind when I think about Van Loc Vietnamese Restaurant. They have an array of traditional Vietnamese dishes you normally can’t get at other Vietnamese pho joints. Sure, they serve pho, spring rolls, and noodle dishes but it’s their other dishes like their delectable Ca Kho To (braised fish claypot), zesty Canh Chua (sweet and sour shrimp soup), or savory Ca Ri Ga (chicken in yellow curry) that impressed me the most about this place. Many of the other dishes are delicious but can be found at many other Asian cuisine restaurants such as fried tofu, chicken and mixed veggies, and such. Overall, the food is fabulously tasty and I would recommend this place anyone craving home-style Vietnamese food. The prices average around $8-10 per plate and portions are family-style in which the entrée is shared among the party. A family sized bowl of Jasmine rice also served with the meal. Prices range around $10-15 per plate. Side note: to truly enjoy many of the dishes this place has to offer I recommend you come with a group of 4 or more and eat family style.

We were craving Vietnamese food and searched for places within 5-10 minutes. There were several places in the area but we choice Van Loc because they were open later than 8PM on a Sunday. We had a party of 8 and we were seated promptly. The service was great even though we had a big group, and they even boxed your leftovers for you! Started off with eggrolls and spring rolls. Both were good, especially the eggrolls. They are SO crispy that even if you don't want one, you cannot resist the urge to try one because of the crunching noise when people eat it! The Pho smelled very aromatic and was really good, and they give you a choice of Pho with well done or medium rare beef. Their wonton soup was very delicious! The hot and sour soup tasted okay. Someone said it tasted like BBQ sauce. A friend ordered the veggie and tofu dish and said it was good, and that the vegetables were not smushy. Another ordered the Roasted Quail. The quail looked like it would be dry at first but it was super yummy! I have tried roasted quail at fancy restaurants and they were always mediocre. The Roasted Quail at Van Loc was moist and so flavorful! The vermicelli bowls were also good and they give you a lot of noodles. And you can't beat the price at $5.95! The meat was tasty, a little on the sweet side. The highlight of all the dishes was the frog legs in coconut curry! You wouldn't think much of it from the name or how it looks, but it had the best flavors of everything we ordered, and probably one of the best coconut curries I have had. Other places seem to make coconut curries too sweet. This one was savory, with a hint of coconut, spices, and great balance of flavors. Overall we were very pleased with our menu choices! I don't even live in the area but will come back for the egg rolls and to try their other dishes!
