A very sweet lady I have known my whole life lives here. We flew out and did a socially distance visitation in late 2020 which went smooth, thinking shipping a care package would go well. Recently we had asked her if she needed anything. She said just winter accessories (gloves, beanies, socks),mesh laundry bag, coloring books, and a radio. We sewed the laundry mesh bag with her name and room number and put the winter accessories inside along with a radio. I shipped the box and it arrived at the facility March 12,2021. I understand protocol of opening their mail to check if something hazardous to their well being is inside. What is UNACCEPTABLE is STEALING. I called the lady to see if she had gotten her box complete turns out the person who delivered the box took the mesh bag with the accessories and radio and never came back to her room. It angers me that someone has the heart to steal socks and a radio from an elderly person who needs them. Shows if employees there are easily stealing something like socks from packages loved ones send you can imagine what happens behind closed doors. I called to get an explanation and Im still waiting for a call back. I hope they have a log when they deliver packages to patients so the person that did this is held accountable and fired.
