Artisan Custom Belt & Handbag

I brought in a belt that was in need of repair. Ruben fixed it quickly and it looks brand new now!

Don't go here. I took three pairs of shoes here to have them repaired. Although he was only able to repair two of the three, I was charged 140$ for the two pair he "fixed". Please keep in mind, he didn't even repair the entire  shoe - so I paid 140$ for an incomplete job. On top of that, he's rarely at the shop - so you have to call to arrange times to meet him and half the time he doesn't even show up. The silver lining is that the shoes look worse than before I dropped them off. This place is a rip off and the repairs were terrible.

Ive had several vintage Louis fixed here. Owner always does a fantastic job. Ive also had him save a few really old pieces for me by cobbling them together in a way that may not be the prettiest but the purse works! He of course warned me they wouldn't be perfect beforehand but did them and they look great. He also has a super cute giant dog that is so sweet. I drive from The Woodlands for this guy because Houston Shoe Doctor sucks and are so expensive.

I desperately needed a very expensive purse strap shortened. He did such an amazing job! I can barely tell where he had taken the leather apart and resewn it. The leather is so thick and was located in a very difficult place to sew. I'm so happy with the work! AND he's so nice!!!!!!! I highly recommend this place!!!! (FYI I am super particular)

Never again. The owner held my bag for months and kept dismissing me by abruptly telling me to "call next week." I had gone in once to receive the bag and was shocked at how badly the work had been done on the handles of my handbag, so I pointed it out to him and asked him to please redo it. My handbag looked worse than when I brought it in. I could not accept my handbag like he had first handed it back to me with the stitching crooked and incomplete, and the white glue sloppy and visible.When I finally showed up to pick up my handbag a second time, he suddenly, conveniently needed to close the shop and ran to the back to not let me in. Luckily, I brought my husband with me since this owner had been aggressive on the phone about not letting me see my handbag. In person, with a man by my side, he spoke to me in a kind, low, friendly, meek voice and finally treated me with respect. Odd, right? He then claimed he charged me $80 for the work on my handbag, when in fact he had charged me $50 based on his store receipt I had saved for months. I showed it to him and he then "remembered, oh yeah!" the lower amount. Again, odd, right?Here are the pictures of the awful work he believes is worth $80 and for which he tried to gouge me. All I needed was to fix the handle on my purse. Had I known this would be an unnecessary and stressful experience, I would have gone elsewhere. If he could not do the work, he should have told me from the start and we would not be in this situation.
