Dr. Somaiya’s bedside manner is excellent, I love the fact that she truly cares about her patients and doesn’t just treat them like a number, but actually listens to your concerns. I have received the absolute best care from Dr. Somaiya and highly recommend her!

As many other reviewers have said of this doctor, I would leave 0 stars if I could. I would strongly discourage anyone from seeing her. Dr. Somaiya was cruel, belittling, refused to listen and condescending. I went in for a routine woman’s health visit. When I told her I was soon to be married she asked if I wanted children. I told her eventually yes but not any time soon. She then (like others here have reported) began to prediagnose me as needing IVF, told me some harsh facts about my risk of having a Down syndrome child due to my age. She explained if I had started earlier it would be better for me. She then ordered expensive blood work I thought was routine and going to be covered by my insurance for the visit. Again, not looking to get pregnant or even start that process, the blood work was for genetic screening for pregnancy. Later when I would challenge the bill she would claim I asked for this. I still don’t even understand my results because they were never explained to me and I was given incorrect follow up instructions. During the actual exam, I told Dr. Somaiya that I had a bad experience once getting blood drawn and I wanted to postpone. She shamed me and said if I wanted to get pregnant I would need to get over this fear, which is true. She went on to say, however, that I need therapy to deal with a fear of needles. She said she treats patients in Africa and they don’t have this problem. When I asked her about a bladder concern I was having and what she thought, she told me, see a specialist. I left in tears. I felt unheard, abused, and shamed. I went to get my blood work because I was feeling forced and humiliated for being scared. As luck would have the gentleman who did my work was African. When I apologized to Stanley for being afraid and told him Dr Somaiya’s comments about working in Africa, he laughed and said everyone is scared of blood draws. I later found out from my insurance company that the blood work could have been covered but the doctor coded it as such that it was not. I also found out that the reason she gave me a referral for an IVF specialists is because she gets paid on referrals. This doctor does not care about women or their health. Do not see this doctor.

First and last time I am seen by this Doctor! I would give her zero stars if I could! She took every ounce of hope that I had as far as becoming pregnant. She diagnosed me without even having blood work done. Brought tears to my eyes and did not care to offer a tissue nor comfort me in any kind of way! Dr. Somaiya, is heartless! I called my insurance and changed my healthcare provider as soon as I walked out of that building. WILL NOT recommend her to anyone!!
