Dr. Willis J. Pumphrey Jr, DDS

Be warned that Dr. Pumphrey is a cheat. Upon an early retirement from the Dental Cosmetic Center of Houston, he left many patients with open dental plans that were never fulfilled. I was promised a refund equaling up to $6K for work that was never performed. The remaining dentist, Dr. Moon, who purchased the practice refuses to pay for the "patient abandonment" cases because they argue that I was Dr. Pumphrey's patient. There is an open court case against the dentist now. I hear that he may be planning to open another private practice. Please save yourself the trouble and find someone else!

Dr. Pumphrey is an excellent cosmetic dentist. I love him and the staff there. I would recommend his services to all that needed to restore a smile.

Dr. Willis J. Pumphrey Jr, changed my half smile to a full smile from cheek to cheek. I call it my Million Dollar Smile. I had a space between all four of my front top teeth. I am the worst patient at age 48 I act worst than 2 year old. I don't care who is around kids or a good looking guy I will throw a fit and beg to get out of it anyway I can come up with (needles) been like that all my life. He said okay here we go I looked at him crazy hello thought you were going to give me gas he said close your eyes I promise your not going to feeling a thing. He grabbed my upper lip and starting wiggling it then he said so how you doing okay let's let that get good and numb and I will give you the rest of your shots. I felt nothing not a thing. Finished shots and started to work. He said will you say just rock my world for me. I did and everyone started laughing remember that comedy show In Living Color. Your lips are so pumped like that guy on that show. Then he says okay we are done you ready to take a look no way we are finished your lying. He gave me a mirror and looked and I said omg started crying the color of the teeth were so tan not white like my teeth next to them. I put the mirror down and cried so hard. He said I am so sorry look hold the mirror I put wax on them. He scraped it off and I had perfect sized teeth and not a space matched perfect. I was 22 and finally got it fixed. All my life I hated my teeth just had tiny teeth. I live in Las Vegas now and I am 48 years old and took a fall that ended up cracking a tooth right in the middle all the way up. I got the tooth taken out it was real loose. But I am going to go back to Houston to have Dr. Pumphrey give me back that Million Dollar Smile. You changed my whole life in so many ways. I need you to fix my lost tooth and think it has damaged the big tooth next to it. I know you will fix it and you won't hurt me. And I will travel wherever you are to not hurt me. BEWARE, PLEASE READ! Went in for cosmetic dentistry - started with an expander, then Clear Correct trays (same as Invisalign), then holly retainers. Dr. Pumphrey promised he could completely straighten my teeth and fix my bite with the treatment quoted. FOUR YEARS LATER, he aligned my teeth a little but not without performing MULTIPLE IPR's (Interproximal reduction - where they remove part of your tooth), and now I have large gaps between my teeth that I never had before, where food gets stuck every time I eat. I also now have bruxism - excessive grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw - which I never had before and causes issues on a daily basis. Upon multiple visits to get new trays, sometimes they wouldn't fit because he tried to put ANOTHER PATIENT'S TRAYS IN MY MOUTH! This happened multiple times. Not to mention the cheaply made trays and holly retainers that broke several times. Also, Dr. Pumphrey would have me see other dentists (random with each visit), with each dentist contradicting the last on treatment! Finally, after HE thought I was done with treatment - even though my teeth were not completely aligned and my back teeth now wouldn't even touch when biting down - he wanted to charge me more $ than the several thousand I already paid to continue work! CONCLUSION - Dr. Pumphrey is a great salesmen and cordial, but I GUARANTEE HE WILL RUIN YOUR SMILE!
