Miss Susie is just the best. I feel so privileged to have found this hidden gem. My daughter has been her student since she was three years old. Miss Susie has developed in my daughter not only a solid foundation in dance skills, and a love for dance and performing, but also discipline and interpersonal skills, which has and will help my daughter in anything else in life beyond dance. Miss Susie cares about her students as if they were her own children and goes above and beyond to see them succeed. She has been doing this for 50 years and has many alumni as Broadway stars. Suzanne Semans Dance Studio helps transform ordinary girls and boys into polite, respectful, kind, and skillful dancers.

My daughter trained in tap for two years after coming from the Humphrey School/TUTS downtown. Suzanne did advance tap with her and I hope I can be half as active as her when I reach Suzanne’s age. You cannot did our experience-over 50 years—she is is very personable. The classes were smaller and my daughter had fun, I’ve posted a video of their performance in 2018 so you can see you see what she did with the 10 high school students. The Humphrey School is nice, but lacks consistent teachers and the groups are too large. The proof of Suzannes teaching is the local high school shows where her training at Stafford has won more Tommy Tune Awards—best Musical Theater show in Greater Houston—than any other I believe. Check her out, this little lady is amazing.

Suzy’s studio has been like a second home to me for 11 years. I started going to Summer camp when I was five and loved it so much that my family had to plan summer vacations around the dates! I have also taken a full schedule of dance classes and been part of the competition team. Ms. Suzy has such a big heart and truly loves and cares about her students.

Hope this place is better than when we experienced this....My daughter had won a Summer session from school to this place. We stepped in and we're treated like we were in the way. The person who (I'm pretty sure was the owner, since her name was Suzanne) was running auditions. She looked as if she already knew who was going to play what character and had her favorites as well. I felt so bad taking my daughter here. She's a little chubby and we both were looking forward to her taking classes to keep her active during the Summer. When she won this Summer session, she was so excited but when she saw that woman look at her in disgust and not willing to even give her a slight chance. She never wanted to come back. So we didn't. Also, it brought her self esteem down to where she wouldnt try any other places. I suggest that the person who runs this place learns not to show her true emotions on her face because obviously kids can see when they're not wanted either. I'm thankful that my daughter did overcome this and did find her place somewhere else now!
