El Charrito

I hate to post this but yall failed today. Dont: 1) open 10 minutes late then 2) leave sticky tables then 3) lie to me and tell me the chips will be ready ten minutes, bring my meal, then 15 minutes later I ask about the chips and tell me they didnt arrive today. 4) Be rude and unfriendly on top of it all. Ive always liked this place but if this is the new El Charrito, good luck.

Best breakfast tacos in town. It's like ordering from a food truck But its brick and mortar. Always busy , staff are friendly, orders are accurate.

Strong stinch as you enter the restaurant which should have deterred me but I decided to stay much to my regret. Started with a batch of chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and decent flavor but the chips had no salt and seemed store bought however the waitress indicated they were made in-house. Taco platter with Spanish rice and refried beans arrived and looked appealing... But.... Looks can be deceiving though. It seemed that every effort was made to make the dish as flavorless as possible. The beef slop in the taco was bland and soupy. The taco shell was some form of cheap fried corn tortilla. Thankfully the lettuce and tomato were fresh. The salsa on the taco at least gave some flavor. The beans missed any aspect of refried. No garlic, salt or any other seasoning. And the Spanish rice was a sad state of overcooked rice with some sort of red coloring that did little to add any flavor. Even at the lunch special of $8.99 the plate was overpriced for the taste.
