Victor's Mexican Grille

Service was awkward. Menu has wrong prices which apparently everything you order should ask if you are getting charged for. Charged wrong for drinks. Manager would not come out and talk to me about my check instead of had their new server try to explain some lie to us. Terrible experience. Food wasnt even good I told him its not his fault but the manager should have came to the table to discuss how our checks were incorrect and help the server who had no idea what he was doing. I have been a server myself for 10 years and this restaurant has no idea what they are doing. It is illegal to charge more than what is advertised. I got the jumbo house margarita and was charged 15 dollars when advertised as 12. There was incorrect charges on other checks too. I thought it would be an easy fix but manager wouldnt even come to table and the server goes ya sorry our prices have been wrong for 3 years weve been trying to tell the owner the restaurant is a joke. Left my number for the owner to call me and they never did.

Victor's is an okay mexican restaurant. The food is not amazing, nor is it terrible. Some dishes are better than others. Some are lacking in taste. Being of Mexican heritage and a tejano/Texan. There are some dishes that need improvements and are not truly accurate to the authenticity. For instance, their carne guisada is not thick and hearty as it should be. It's more of a soupesh dish, but it does have a nice flavor, but if you're expecting a traditional Carne guisada, it is not. The tacos Al cabron is a decent meal even though the tacos are small sized, and that day, the flour tortillas did not appear to be homemade, and the corn forsure wasn't. The meat is good and tender. The Spanish rice is traditional, and the charro beans are very delicious. The chips are good. The salsa is good. Ask for the habanero one if you want the large guacamole appetizer, which said a large size was not a large portion than what most will assume they are going to be served. On that day, the restaurant seemed to be short stuffed. It took 45 minutes from ordering to get my food delivered to my table, and the restaurant was not full of customers. The waiter was very kind and polite and apologized for the long wait without any complaints from my table. To be fair to Victor's restaurants, we're in a hard economy. Things are pricy. But I think there is room for improvement on the price VS. the amount of food that you are getting. I would come back again.

Pollo Vallarta is my standing order every single time I go in. Great local Tex-Mex and quality consistent. Great Rita's as well.
