Furniture Buy Consignment

I have been a local small business owner for almost 30 years and in all that time, this is the worst, most dishonest merchant I have ever encountered. I consigned five (5) pieces of high-end furniture with Furniture Buy Consignment in April 2012. Upon visiting my home to estimate demand and pricing for my furniture, the proprietor (Bryn) toured my home and energetically asked for the consignment contract. I agreed and she picked-up furnishings which originally retailed for just over $26,000.
After 60 days with no communication, I sent her an email inquiring as to the status of sales and requesting payment for those pieces which had sold to date. I received no immediate reply. Six (6) days later I received an email from a bookkeeper informing me that Furniture Buy Consignment had donated my furnishings because they had a smoke odor. The items were glass and hardwood, so any odor, if an odor existed, would have cleaned easily.
Furniture Buy Consignment "donated" a mahogany Ralph Lauren armoire and center table, a tortoise Ralph Lauren center and end table, and a Hickory White Oak and marble console because of an alleged smoke odor. Furniture Buy Consignment offered no restitution and no satisfaction. In any industry, I believe the term for their actions is conversion, which is tantamount to theft.
