Never rent from budget again cause they will screw you over when you no longer need the reservation and cancel it

Went in on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd 2023, to pick up the truck my husband started it and the engine light came on. My husband went inside and to let the rep know about it. He said it was fine and that they were aware of it. The rep was not interested about hearing it. An hour into our drive the next day the tire light came on. We pulled over and we didnt see anything (we left it as just being the tire sensor) after it turned off. The truck was filthy! Coffee spilled all over the seats, doors floor boards and console, dog hair, dog food all over the truck. Luckily I always carry Clorox wipes and cleaned up the console, the seats, the steering wheel and the cup holders. We have always used U-Haul and Penske and have never had an issue, we wanted to give Budget a try but thatll be a hard pass for us.

Bad experience - Engine light came on in the truck when I left the lot. I took it back and they didn't have a truck to replace it (there were now 5 broken trucks in their lot). They wouldn't help me find another truck at another Budget location, I was told I had to call Customer Service. Customer service (after waiting...) told me I had to call road side assistance first before they would try to find me a truck. Road side assistance (after waiting) said someone had to come physically look at the truck to determine if I needed a different truck. I decided to cancel, which was also an ordeal. I wanted to ensure they released the $195 hold on my card. I was told I had to call customer service again (there was even more drama, but no need to go on...) I ended up having to cancel my move and lost money on movers.

Terrible experience. Dont do it. Made a reservation for 16 truck with a ramp(I specifically needed the ramp) and it was the only one available for my time in the area. I get there at 9am for my 9am reservation and they had rented the truck k out to someone else. I asked the guy how that happened and he said because budget is greedy.. what.. I then had to get a 12 truck but was charged for the 16 truck. The guy said I had to talk to customer service to get refunded the difference which was ~20. I did that and customer service said they couldnt because the price for 12 and 16 were the same. (Which they werent at time of reservation). So all in all I got screwed. Had to rent a uhaul trailer to finish the job. wasted money and more importantly wasted hours dealing with it. Thanks budget!
