This place was romantic and always had delicious food and great service. Sad to see that this place suddenly closed its doors, without notice.

Solid wine collection for the wine-o's. I personally had a pizza, brick oven cooked, and it was delicious. Clean, modern setting without having to dress up. Good seating arrangements that range for the romantic couple to a huge group of friends. The Italian Mule is a cocktail worth trying, if you're a fan of the mule. I look forward to trying the lasagna next time.

I've been here twice and I've enjoyed it both times. I remember enjoying the bruschetta. We got one of each. It was pricey but also extremely tasty. The most recent time I visited, I shared the prosciutto pizza and vivo rigatoni. The pizza was very flavorful with creamy, delicious goat cheese. I normally don't eat prosciutto and I really enjoyed it because it was crispy and not full of fat. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly and was filled with cheesy goodness. They also had a special that if we bought two entrees (full price) we would get a free bottle of wine! That was a nice birthday surprise. Vivo 53 has a great atmosphere and tasty food for your next get-together.

Salads were really quite bad to the point that we refused to pay for one (warning: the vinaigrette is creamy and tastes like Hellman's Mayo). Pizza was mediocre. Fell far short of expectations based on other reviews.

My husband and I visited Vivo 53 today and dined about 2:30. We loved the décor, the beautiful piano music and the ambiance in general. I felt like I was in NYC. Our waiter, Steffan (sp?), was on top of his game, was very personable, explained some of the dishes we asked about, and the service was remarkable. Thank you Steffan! We had artichokes with aioli for starters. Very good and something you don't see on most menus which is what I look for when I want to try a new restaurant. A little pricey at $9 but I love artichokes, never had them cooked like this and wanted to try them; glad I did. We shared a Caesar salad, I had the margharita pizza and my husband had the lasagna. I must say the pizza was the highlight of the meal. The crust was exceptional, beautifully crisp and light, the pizza sauce was perfect with just the right amount of mozzarella cheese on top, not at all like most pizza restaurants that overload the pizza with cheese. It was just the right size for a meal. Cappucino and dolce crema bruciata for dessert...both delicious. We were happy, happy when we left. My husband isn't really big on trying new restaurants. I, on the other hand, like to venture out to see what's new. So glad we came here today. My husband admitted to me when we left that we needed to dine here again and bring some family with us. We had parked in a parking lot a short distance down the street and didn't have any trouble getting in and out of the area. I give this restaurant 5 stars and we'll definitely be back.
