. Several vendors left early. The Hamfest was scheduled to close at 3pm Saturday. I realize this was a 2 day event, but some people have full time jobs. I arrived on Saturday at 11am. Several vendor tables were already empty, and there were several vendors packing up at 11am. By 12:30, about 30% of the vendors were gone and the remaining vendors were starting to pack up too. There are a lot of positives, however, and for the most part the event was great. If you take advantage of the seminars and training sessions, you will have a added bonus. It is also wonderful to actually speak to people and see faces. At the Plano Ham-Com, vendors are required to stay until the end of the event. They can't even start packing up until the show is almost over. Again, overall, it was a great Hamfest. My major gripe is that vendors were gone, and were packing up 4 hours before the show was scheduled to end. Zeke

I think the Hamfest went great. I was able to get something I needed from Texas Towers on the first day. However, I was working out in the RACES van helping direct people needing any directions in on the call in frequency both Friday and Saturday. So I did not get to experience as much in the way of the classes that were being given or the purchasing of goods that were being sold amongst the vendors. But it was packed on both days and a lot of people seem to have been enjoy the event. I do know that videos were shot of some of the classes that were given and Cowtown ARC was putting some of them up on YouTube for others to be able to view and learn from. This was a great event with a bunch of great people that were running the event. I highly recommend any ham radio operator or anybody interested in ham radio attend the next event. It was only $10 for two days and I really enjoyed it myself even though I was working!
