Unfairly high prorated charges! Initially, we were pretty happy with Allen Orthodontics, it offered about the same prices just like anywhere else, plus and good appearance of this business was attractive. However, now I see how Allen Orthodontics is more concerned with taking your money than caring for you! We received PCS orders shortly after signing a contract for my son in November 2018. Now we had to make a decision between two options: 1.installing both braces in El Paso, finding a new provider at the new place for adjustments or 2.discontinuing treatment at all as is and canceling the contract. It took Allen Orthodontics over two months (after multiple emails and phone calls) to provide names of orthodontists working with the same type of bracing equipment in our new area in Brooklyn, NY. They found only two! Even then, after visiting both businesses, we were told that they do not use precisely the same materials and tools. So, our decision became obvious - we requested the cancellation of the contract (by this time Allen Orthodontics have applied one brace, however, during follow up visits did not make any adjustments). Allen Orthodontics accepted the cancellation, however, requested over $2000 for "provided services." They have submitted a claim to the insurance company under the code covering one brace work as complete. In reality, as you may know, it takes between 18-26 months to straighten teeth. At our new location in New York, multiple estimates from orthodontists show that application of one brace and visits during the first 3 months in their office would cost about a half of that charge! We ended up with an option of removing this brace and starting with a different provider. Hopefully, some of you will find this review as beneficial, especially if you are in the service like us.
