He helped me not only get my loan, but also boosted my credit score and helped me understand home finance. I got my home, my highest credit score ever, and a new friend. Go with Gabe!

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. My file was so grossly mishandled it was concerning. Being a first time home buyer I trusted Gabe to guide me through this process and was severely let down. The story: When looking for a house for rent with my realtor friend JP, he suggested that I just buy a house seeing as a mortgage payment would be a couple hundred more at the most considering the price point we were looking at. I knew from the beginning I wouldn't qualify for most loans being 3 years in self-employed but was told by JP that he had this great loan officer who had an alternative option. I was referred to Gabe and we promptly set up a meeting the following day. When we met he sold me on a bank statement loan from Angel Oak for 5% down payment and 5.5% interest, that was a no brainer on my end and was totally affordable. We submit everything, get pre-approved, and the days were narrowing down to closing. 20 days into our option period(21 days) I get a call from Gabe letting me know that the actual rate is 10% down and 7.1%-8.1% interest. If it were a subtle change I wouldn't have been as let down, if he had notified me sooner I wouldn't have been as let down, but those numbers mean a big difference on a 353k house. With 1 day left in our option period we scramble to talk to other lenders to see what avenues we had left... which were none. After talking to 3 other loan officers on that day, they all confirmed from the beginning that I wouldn't qualify for that loan under those circumstances and literally apologized for a few minutes each on Gabe's behalf. After speaking with 1 of them(Jeremy) extensively, Jeremy quickly explained how none of the 10% could be gifted either so we were definitely out of options. Now, with less than a month from our move-out date we started back at square 1 with looking at houses for rent that can accommodate our 3 dogs. Hopefully we get a house remotely close to our preferences at this point given the slim options. Very disappointed at the moment, this could've easily been prevented at the initial meeting with Gabe if he had spent an extra 2-3 minutes to look up the terms of the loan with Angel Oak.
