We visited Adventure Landing today, where this organization was apparently having their Fall Fest, and let me tell you that the group of over a hundred kids they brought was the most disrespectful, poorly behaved group of kids I've run across in a long time. Cutting in line five or ten at a time, bad language, outright disrespect for total strangers and adults, young kids making out and acting sexual, just a bunch of really entitled, foul-mouthed kids with no manners and absolutely no supervision. When we spoke to the adults who were supposed to be chaperoning these kids, the woman in charge stated that she was aware of the problems (since multiple people had complained both to her and to the venue), but "those kids were not actual members of the organization." Strange, since so many of them had t-shirts on for BBYO. And even stranger given that she had not witnessed the issue and so did not know which kids were involved (hint: nearly three-dozen of them). I actually laughed out loud when I read the goals and services this organization purports to uphold. I didn't see a single child associated with them demonstrate anything resembling character or leadership. Even our own ten-year-old was disgusted by the way these kids behaved. What I saw today represents total and complete failure on the part of your organization. Just bottom-level failure, period. We will be keeping tabs on your organization simply to ensure that we NEVER end up in the same place with you again. I don't blame the kids, I blame the parents, and I blame BBYO staff. If you can't keep these kids in line, you're not doing them any favors taking them to public places, in fact, you're demonstrating profound weakness that will follow them through the rest of their lives. Shame on you.
