Psychiatry Clinic - UT Southwestern

The UTSW health system is world class! I have been very happy with my care and service. However, when it come to mental health it is sub par. The psych office is disorganized and the staff ate rude abd surly. The providers are arrogant and dismissive of underlying medical issues. They seem to he mote intersted in parking themselves on the back than actually listening. Eric Shellhorn is the worst!

There are just not enough kind words I can say about Vanessa Echetabu! She is just wonderful I have been seeing her for more than a year now and have come so far! The last Dr I saw before her to put it nicely was not the greatest and I was in a very bad place when I first started seeing her. I wasnt really comfortable talking with anyone about what goes on with me at best I had one foot in and one foot out but now I look forward to our visits she has helped me so much and works with me telling me about available resources to help me continue growing with my mental health. She is always so kind and has a smile on her face i would recommend her to everyone!

I had terrible akathisia from one of the medications I was on, and it went unaddressed the entire time I was there (1.5 weeks). Many of the techs and nurses were standoffish.

So this place deals with domestic violence and such issues so why then did they give and continue to call the very person I'm having issues with after repeatedly requesting them not too? Are they trying to get me hurt are they really that grossly incompetent
