image Living at Century Lake Highlands in Dallas, TX, with property manager Alice Caballero has been the worst apartment leasing experience of my entire life. I do not recommend for anyone to rent with Century Lake Highlands. Alice Caballero and the exact same horrific management staff for First Communities (prior management company) are still in the office under Highmark Residential.
When I moved-in I took notice that the shower/tub in my unit had a mat fixed to the bottom of the tub. I came to learn that the reason for the mat was because the tub basin had been cut away due to rot. Instead of replacing the tub, maintenance just slapped down a mat. While living there the tub ended up cracking open. I repeatedly followed-up with the office staff and I received no immediate response.
Eventually I was contacted by the property manager Alice Caballero. Refusing to answer me by e-mail, she left me a voice message and told me to call her back. I called her back. She was rude and I told her that I didnt appreciate her attitude. I came home that day to an inoperable shower/tub which had the handle removed so that I could not bathe myself and a lease violation forI am not kiddingbeing disrespectful to her. She demanded that I see her in-person within 24 hours. I met her per her own demand. She accused me of threatening her and she threatened to evict me. (Does it make sense that if someone allegedly threatened you, you would then demand that they come see you in-person?) I told her that I would involve legal counsel. She then started screaming at me at the top of her lungs like she was being murdered. To top it off, she then e-mailed a chain with all of staff and stated that I caused a confrontation by complying with her absurd demand to see her in-person and she decided that I could no longer communicate with her in-person.
As a direct result of her sick abuse of power and her threats, I provided my 60-day notice. She then started making-up amounts to charge me. When I inquired where exactly in the legally binding lease she was legally allowed to charge me with her fictitious amounts I received no response. (If an amount is lawful then it is very easy to reference where it is allowed to be charged in the lease.) I asked to speak with her supervisor and I was refused.
Meanwhile, I had no way to bathe myself as my shower/tub was inoperable for a total of 5 days and my apartment was filled with noxious chemicals. There was never any announcement or warning regarding the use of the chemicals. They decided to just pump foam underneath the tub and slap down another mat, instead of paying to replace the rotted shower/tub. The basin of the tub which you would stand on does not exist; it is a mat of a material that is questionable in grade and will not last in the long-term. Future tenants are going to continue to have problems with this tub. Reference the photographs for what awaits the future tenants at Century Lake Highlands.
In the end, I was offered only $125 compensation for what I went through (which is not even enough to cover the cost of the hotel which I had to pay for). When I inquired for an explanation as to how the amount was computed I was refused. There was never any acknowledgement that the manager was making-up fees which were not allowed to be charged through my legally binding lease. I had to fight with the dishonest Alice Caballero to charge me only the amount that is allowed to be legally charged to me for my final month and it was only changed once corporate became involved.
I always paid my rent on-time and in-full. I took excellent care of the apartment and I caused no problems. This was how I was treated by Century Lake Highlands with Alice Caballero as property manager. My stay at Century Lake Highlands was anything but peaceful or safe.

image Sharing my experience! I moved in Providence Place in Denton Tx on Jan 5, 3 weeks later I get a call saying my file got audit. How so soon? My live-in aide award letter has a name on it along with hers, I was told that the other person name have to be removed. But that person is gone for 13 weeks, I also was told that the audit have to be done in a matter of time. But they let us in with this same document. Why the audit didnt see it then? I expressed how they allowed us to enter and that this was their mistake and the reply I got was we all humans and make mistake. Thats not helping this matter. Now my only option is to put in a 60 day notice & pay $1100 to keep my name and live in aide name clear of eviction when this was Highmark fault & they wont even take accountability. I even came up with options to remove my live in completely off the lease or move out in 30 days they put nothing on our credit but they are trying to make sure they stick the blame to us by they negligent. This is NOT right!!

image I moved into Avida Apartments in Murray, Utah, a little over a month ago. I live with two other aduls, and we each have our own cars and have to leave for work during the week and sometimes on weekends. The leasing office currently only issues one parking pass per apartment and will not allow for a second or third pass. The street parking is horrible and there are no spots available to park anytime after 4pm. There is a parking lot in the middle of the apartmentsthat is meant for people with parking tags, however it is always empty.
It's frustrating that there is abundant parking available and the leasing office still refuses to issue additional parking tags and forces residents to continue to fight for street parking. The street parking is not enough for this community and the additional parking lot should be used to help mitigate some of these parking issues. I want an explanation as to why this entire empty lot cannot be utilized OR additional parking tags issued to residents. I would understand if these additional parking tags had a fee that was added to monthly rent, but as of now, we don't even have that option. Please come up with a solution to this problem.
