His finished work will astound you -- John's attention to detail, his use of light, the clarity when enlarged are all outstanding. But what makes John's photographs truly special is John's ability to connect with people and to capture what is unique about their personality. He charms smiles out of babies and makes adolescents feel comfortable (and beautiful). His bridal photography shows the love in the bride's heart. His portraits of adults show the wisdom and joy they have earned over time. John sees the essence of people and miraculously preserves that essence in a beautiful photograph.

John Derryberry has been an inspiration to me for over 20 years. As a fellow photographer, I met him in Santa Fe, NM while I was working in the prestigious Santa Fe Photographic workshops. Well respected by our peers, his work always presents some creative twist that inspires imagination. Over the years, I have had the privilege to collaborate with John, witnessing him connect to his subjects to create unique images that transcend.
