Enjoyed great food and drinks celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Lone Star 92.5 radio station was there giving out prizes. Here's a pictures of Randy James enjoying the gummy worm out of one of the margarita drink specials they had that day. Yum yum LOL I'm so sad that almost all the El Chico restaurants in this area have permanently closed the doors. It's so hard to see this one gone after going there for 40 years there's so many memories of all the good food, good people, and good times we've had at the El Chico's even when it was located out closer to the access road of Central Expressway before they totally remodeled Keystone Shopping Center. I almost cried as I walked up to the doors to see the building empty and I had just received a coupon earlier that day for a buy one get one free meal from El Chico's.

I called today to place and order for pick up. I was on hold for 6 minutes and by the time the girl answered I was walking through the door and she already had an attitude. I placed my ordered waited at the bar and forgot to tell I wanted queso on rice. She tells me its $1.99 to put it on my dry rice which is a small scoop. Who pays $1.99 for a spoon full of cheese. I have gone to El Chico for years and today was my last visit. Then she says she would like to know who wasn't charging me to put it on my rice. I didn't like her attitude from the time I walked in. That was the first time I had a bad experience there and it will be the last because I won't be back. I rather pay more and go to Papasito's where they don't charge $1.99 for a spoon full of cheese.
