Went into the doctor's office an annual physical which is free by law and by the time I was done I had a $295 bill. It was explained to me since i discussed issues from my past (the doctor did ask me about my past medical issues) including my current sleeping issues the free annual physical turned into an $295 office visit. I did ask the billing person why was that not explained beforehand and I was told they are explaining it now to me. I do not understand why this was a hard concept for the billing person to understand explaining it to me now is too late. Such big changes such as an annual physical to an office visit needs to be explained prior to such changes, not after the fact. Additionally she asked me if anything makes me nervous, i said flying makes me nervous. She asked want me to get you some Xanax? i said sure i guess maybe i will try when i fly. The doctor than got me a prescription for a drug. There was no explaining of anything regarding the drug. There was no explaining of benefits or disadvantages or side effects. Literally in a few seconds i got a controlled substance prescription. The Billing Person pointed out the that Xanax would cost over $200 which will be almost free with the prescription. The Billing Person was trying to justify the $295 cost with getting a prescription of the controlled substance. Sounds like a very dishonest place. This will be reported to the Texas Medical Board.

She's a nice person and knowledgeable, however, she talks super fast and rushes you through your appointment. Forget asking any questions, she doesn't have time for you. I don't think she looks at my chart before my appointment either as she asks the same questions every time in rapid fire.
