Fecht & Co Custom Shutters

Please be advised, when we hired and signed a contract with Fecht & Company (Doug Fecht, the owner is unwell which may be why there is an increase in complaints) the company was A rated by BBB. We hired them at the end of May 2021, to install hurricane shutters (with 5 yr. warranty) on our new construction home, the agreed upon cost of which included $225 for the Texas Department of Insurance inspection. Upon the last day of installation, 9/15/21, I pointed out how they had scratched up the shutters they installed, we found the cause was a sharp bracket they fabricated to aid the installation, Fecht ordered some special spray paint for the shutters and said it would arrive in several days. Two days after installation was completed (9/17/21), I contacted Fecht via text about one of the shutters not operating correctly and he replied that same day, requesting details which were provided to him along with pictures. I have since that time, called both his cell and company phone, left voice messages, messages with his employees, and emails with NO response, fix, nor the inspection, which was paid for. Additionally, someone dropped off a can of spray paint without calling or letting us know they were dropping it by. I have kindly requested they fix or replace the inoperable shutter, get us the proper inspection and certification as contracted and paid for, as well as fix their mistakes, but they have not done any of the above nor responded.

Very disappointed! Bought local plus liked the 5 year warranty yet company did not stand behind when the covers started rusting off in year 4! Could have had a new car 🚗 for the price of these shutters! Not happy

I’m amazed that this company’s reviews only go back 2 years. Their history is quite revealing. I spent over $13,000.00 getting shutters on all my windows. I paid to have everything wind storm certified. I called many, many, many times and personally presented myself to their location to no avail. I finally contacted the Better Business Bureau and gave them the lowest rating. Then and only then did I finally get my certification. Doug Fecht reported to the Better Business Bureau that he thought this was already done. He claimed he never realized that it was never completed. Really? He kept returning my certified letters unopened. I had problems with some of my shutters and had a horrible time reaching them to get them fixed. Sometimes they never even showed up. I would never recommend this company. They are quick to get your money but are not a reliable company. Consumer beware of this company.

We have electric hurricane shutters installed by Fecht and Co. This is week six of trying to get their service department to call me back. This is absolutely ridiculous. Our shutters are about 20 years old, so if you would ask me about the product quality, I give 5 stars, but the customer service is so awful that giving them one star is even too generous. Two calls a week left on an answering machine that are not returned is ridiculous. There’s not even an actual person who answers the phone. I would think twice about using this company because if you need service you are apparently out of luck.

Their service is the worst they never anser the phone when you call they say they will come out and never show up they are the worst company in corpus christi ....if you want good service go anywhere else they are incompetent
