Deanna, the owner is the rudest woman I've ever met. I brought in some old items to inquire about the value and was prepared to sell them at whatever price she offered me as I am uneducated about values of antiques. I had zero motivation other than to move the items somewhere else that someone may enjoy them. I certainly didn't care about the money and quite possibly may have just given here the items if she thought someone may buy them and enjoy them. More importantly, I had budgeted just over $1,000.00 to buy my wife a nice piece of antique furniture for our new home, for her birthday. She looked at my items and asked, "What did you do, go to a junk yard"? How insulting. She had know idea where the items came from and appeared to have judged me and the friend I was with based on the clothes we were wearing or maybe our unshaven appearance. Maybe she's just a racist and didn't like the fact that I (a white man) was with a black friend. We had been out of town near Austin fishing for the past 3 days and were headed back to Houston where I live. What if the items had come from my deceased mother or another loved one. She was so rude and condescending in the way she spoke to me and I used my wife's example of taking the high road and was nothing but cordial and nice. I complimented her on her store, her knowledge, and her experience with antiques. All the while being insulted and talked down to. Her last response to my items was that I would have better luck taking them to a scrap yard and selling them as scrap. I hope she reads this review (doubtful she even gives a damn based on her attitude) and maybe treats her customers better. I hope she realizes she missed out on a nice large sale because she was such a rude person. I won't ever spend a nickel there. There are too many antique shops in the area with really sweet and wonderful people who are a pleasure to do business and talk with. I'll spend my money with them. You should too. P.S. I found a nice antique shop later in the day and spent a few minutes talking with a very nice woman who seemed genuinely glad I was in her store on a Sunday. I ended up buying a $1,600.00 piece of furniture for my wife for her birthday. Much more than had planned to spend but the lady at the other store was so pleasant to deal with and the furniture was a perfect fit with the other antiques in our dining room.
