I asked a property tax question using their contact form and received several days later a brusque response saying "we cannot help you." without any explanation as to why. When I sent a reply asking if they knew anybody to whom they might be able to refer me, they just ghosted. Now I get it. Sometimes you're too busy, sometimes it isn't your area of expertise, and I'm certainly not entitled to be a client. But this type of response communicates that once the determination has been made that I'm not a potential source of income, that I'm not worth an additional 90 seconds to explain why, or where I might take my business. It felt pretty shabby, and reflects poorly on their professionalism.

John McDuff is the king of Austin tax lawyers--he's a very senior attorney that knows the ins and outs of the State tax authorities. John helped us get up with sales tax; we operate in a foggy area, and he cleared us up. You won't find anyone more experienced or easier to deal with.

I am originally from India. Because of some mess up with the banks in India I had some issues reporting my Indian bank accounts while I filed my regular taxes here in the US. I approached John and found him to be very knowledgeable. During the initial consultation, he gave me an accurate fee amount and he went with that. No surprises or hidden fees later. He handled the matter very smoothly and guided me along the way on what all is needed to be filed. His assistant Lynne is another wonderful person who replies and supports very promptly. John took care of my case talking with the IRS and after few months, my case is now closed without any problem. I am happy with his service and his estimates.
