Leisure Pools USA installed my fiberglass pool in July 2018. A sales person came to give me an estimate on a 16,500 gal pool with a Hayward salt system, pump, filters, etc. The guy told me his crews would come from one town or another which are each 45 min from me. We chose LP because they had the fiberglass pool we wanted, and I didn't find or suspect anything wrong with them in my research. When it came time to begin the project, the project manager came from a city 3 hrs away - where he LIVED. You can imagine he and his crews could not be reliable from that distance. He would sometimes show up in the evening b/c it took him all day to get here. He could never be here the same day if there was a problem. The whole project was supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks at the most. It took 13.5 weeks - putting us well past swimming season! There was a huge problem with the decking: the concrete was so uneven that when the tile guy came to do the coping around the pool edge, he said it wasn’t possible to make it look good or be safe because the tiles would be uneven and jutting up at some edges. I think it was because the concrete crew was late and had to rush the job. Some guys had to come grind down the concrete where the coping tiles would go. I have a hunch they exposed some of the rebar which is why we’re getting rust stains flowing down into the fiberglass from under the coping. When the coping tile guy came back he said it was good enough, but still not great. He did a pretty good job considering what he had to work with. Another problem was with all the chemicals, manuals, and light remote LP supplied. They sat in a box out in my yard next to the pump for several, sometimes rainy, weeks before I knew they were there. No one thought to tell me or even move them to a dry place. The remote has never worked reliably, but since the project manager was able to get it to work while he was here, I’m stuck with it. It seemed like everyone took days to get out here for each next step. I got an email from corporate congratulating me on a completed project (wanting their final payment), but the project wasn’t finished! More tradesmen had to come out to install a skimmer and tile around it, then re-paint the decking around it. LP includes “pool school” in the cost of the pool. They didn’t seem to have any intention of teaching me how to use or maintain this huge investment. I held payment until (1) the project was complete, (2) the pool was as pristinely cleaned as the brochures, and (3) I completed Pool School. Here I am two years later dealing with another problem caused by Leisure Pools. My salt cell isn’t working. There is no build up of crystals or anything else apparently wrong with it. I’ve cleaned it anyway. It’s on 90% output, but I still can’t get the algae to stop coming back and the chlorine is always low. I looked into getting a new salt cell (hundreds of dollars) and discovered my cell is made for pools UP TO 15,000 gallons. Experts say always choose a cell that can handle MORE THAN your pool’s capacity. No wonder it’s worn out! While LP does offer a warranty which might cover this, the fine print states you must have documented weekly home chemical checks, and monthly professional chemical checks (free at Leslie’s Poolmart). There have been weeks I didn’t check the chemicals in the winter (we don’t winterize down here), and I’ve only taken it in to Leslie’s once, so while they may honor the warranty, my experience with Leisure tells me they likely will not. I also don’t want to go through the hassle of trying to talk them into it. The company gets 2 stars because in the end I did get a nice pool which is the easiest to maintain, everyone I worked with or talked to at LP was polite to my face. Services: Design, Roadworks
