Don’t make the mistake I made seeking to save money. If you appreciate your piano, if you appreciate music, if you love your child… :-) hire Austin Piano Tex to work on your piano. They do an exquisite, superb job; not just to tune it, but also address every part and aspect of its mechanics to make it work to its fullest potential, --this is something you really want to do. It wasn’t that I had any doubt that they were the best choice, but I had thought, “Mmm... this other company charges $110; what if they are good, or at least good enough?” Not the case; not even close; in fact, my piano sounded worse after their tech spent 2 or 3 hours tuning it by ear (and making a lot of conversation). Feeling disappointed, not just in the inexperienced tuner, but in myself for having taken that risk, I scheduled a tuning with Nick. OMG, the difference is immense. I play by ear and I could tell the difference instantly. I award all the stars possible; a hundred stars. It was not only the actual tuning of the notes, but the whole feel is transformed. I have a Yamaha U3 and I know it has potential to have a solid sound, but you absolutely have to have a professional, experienced, competent tuner to bring out your piano's full potential; Nick does this, and there isn’t any way I could be happier with his job. As long as I live in this area, no one else is touching my piano.

They are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. They took their time to answer our questions, guide us through what they were doing and how best to maintain our beloved piano after having gone a few years without tuning. We highly recommend and will use them again!

LOOK NO FURTHER!! Nick is not your typical Piano Tuner. I found Nick through the “Piano Technicians Guild” of which he is a member. Keeping Piano’s in tip-top shape is his craft. Every time he comes to tune, he checks the action and makes sure it’s right on. We discussed the type of music I like to play, and the best sound to get out of my Piano. On top of all this, Nick is a professional in your home. Texts before he arrives, communicates when needed. I highly recommend Nick for anything Piano related that you need.

I bought a 1904 Upright at a garage sale in good condition and contacted Austin Piano Tex to come take a look and give me an estimate of the work. We agreed on a price for a major reconditioning of the instrument workings and Nick explained the line items of work to be done. I consider the price very reasonable for the considerable work performed. Nick Litterski is a professional and a craftsman who took great care of this 115 year old instrument bringing it back to life. He loves these old uprights and took great care in the disassembly and repairs. He took the time to show me what he was doing and why. He even looked up the manufacturer history. I'm glad to find someone who is local, knows his craft and was a pleasure to do business with. I recommend these guys highly.
