We've been fortunate enough to purchase a couple of workhorse Honda Reflex bikes. Our kids (now grown) all learned to ride on these back and forth to school, having a blast and learning great safety lessons in the process. One thing we didn't do great at was upkeep maintenance. Enter Wrench Monster! David was gracious in hearing our story that neither was start post lock-downs, during which they sat still had while the gas went bad. He quickly provide a quote for carb cleaning both bikes, and subsequently kept us informed of his progress both in text and pix (a couple attached to this review). At my request he also updated me on other items that needed attention or replacement. One-week later we had our bikes back, both running as if new again. Our grown-kids have since graduated to bigger bikes, so the Reflex scooters are now there to enjoy by my wife and I. Thanks to David for helping us get these back into shape, along with your kind suggestions on how to keep them in top shape going forward. We highly recommend Wrench Monster, and look forward to working with him in the future. - Craig in Austin Services: Carburetor cleaning, Oil change, Brake service & repair

My son & his roommate acquired a couple of motorcycles then left town to pursue opportunities keeping them occupied elsewhere. With no plans for them to return anytime soon, the bikes, sat neglected for months. Neither would start. Both needed repairs. Although I have never driven a motorcycle, I ended up w/the titles in my name. What the heck was I supposed to do with these bikes? Luckily for me, one of the motorcycle repair places closest to home was a place I passed by regularly. I had already exchanged neighborly waves with Dave at WrenchMonster. I picked up the phone & gave him a call. During that initial call, he was kind, caring, interested, & helpful. As we worked together, he was thoughtful, conscientious, patient, understanding, & fair. He helped me understand the condition of each bike, what it would take for them to be in safe working order, & to decide on next steps. Along the way, Dave shared meaningful information that had us feeling informed & empowered. His insight & perspective was valuable. I was able to share information w/my son who still cares about & is interested in preserving the life of these bikes. We both learned. He & I are grateful to Dave for sharing his expertise & wisdom with us & for the care & attention he provided to both bikes & humans. My son & I wish he were in the area to be able to take Dave up on his, "Let me teach you how to repair your bike," approach. Maybe yet. Working w/Dave has been a joy & a pleasure. Do yourself a favor & give WrenchMonster a call.

David is an excellent mechanic. We poured over my motorcycle for a few hours to make sure it's in a great state. Charged the best rate I could find in town and I've been through a few mechanics. I got a carb rebuild for my Suzuki Boulevard S40 and it runs great. I didn't have anywhere to go since my motorcycle is my only method of transportation, so he let me stick around and see what he does and went through the trouble of explaining things.

Im a Canadian on his way to the Gulf of Mexico because halfway through the pandemic I decided that as soon as the border opened up, I was heading south and going for a swim in the Gulf of Mexico. One week after the border opened, I dodged a weather front coming across L Huron, crossed into the US at Port Huron, sprinted to Iowa to see a real friend, and only then really considered the condition of my tires. Getting quality tires for a big adventure bike during a global supply shortage isnt as easy as I expected. After spending a day looking for tires in MO, I realized the most logical place for me to replace my tires, based on prior commitments, was Austin. I found Wrench Monster using Google Maps. I contacted multiple motorcycle shops, but found Wrench Monster the best option. After contacting him, David reached out to me and took the time to understand my situation and was committed to helping me replace my tires. Having dealt with many motorcycle repair shops during my tours, and generally getting excellent service in the US, David was undoubtedly the best service Ive received. David runs a small shop and you get his personal service. He will take the time to understand your needs, and help identify the best options for getting your bike the service it needs. If it is outside the reach of his experience or capabilities, hes going to be honest with you and direct you to a better option. When you pick up your bike, hes going to tell you anything he noticed that needs attention. Not because he wants repeat business, but because he is concerned with your safety and the best interest of your bike. Even if I ignore the personal service David provided me, Wrench Monster wasnt just competitive with the other Austin motorcycle repair shops I contacted, he ended up being the cheapest. If you need general service for your motorcycle, contact Wrench Monster and David will take the time to figure out how to help you and will provide you service that cant be matched by a motorcycle dealership or general repair shop.
