I had the pleasure of working with Derek Steffen at Whorton Insurance to completely overhaul my small business insurance policy. I had been in business over 12 years with an inadequate policy for most of that time. Derek was recommended to me by my business coach who is a veteran of the insurance industry herself, and she scoured Austin for the best and brightest and found Derek. In one comprehensive on-site visit, he was able to fully understand the nature of my unique business (photo organization) and build a Business Owner's and a Worker's Compensation policy that were tailored to my exact needs at a very reasonable price. I no longer lose sleep wondering what could happen to my burgeoning business in case of disaster or law suit! Derek was responsive and prompt throughout the entire process, which was very quick and easy.

As a small business owner focusing on the care of seniors living with dementia, it's rare to find like minded individuals who care for us the way we care for our loved ones. We have found that in Derek Steffen! Whether it's a 3 minute call to catch up and update me on policies or even delivering cookies to our staff at midnight to let them know that HE appreciates the work THEY do, it is well beyond the extra mile. There is a genuine desire to care for us and the industry niche in which we operate. We consider him family and wouldn't have it any other way.

Whortons Insurance is an independent agency that represents multiple insurance companies. This is a huge benefit as they have our best interest at hand and have a lot of solutions to offer. As a new business owner, we needed some serious hand holding in the initial stages with our risk management needs. If we could select more than 5 stars, we would for these guys!
