    The customer service is a joke you can't speak to anyone that English is their first language. Every time that I had over 500 dollars deposited into my account they would lock my account I've had to send documents on several occasions. They just put restrictions on my account after I got 1000 dollars put into the account now I can't access it. I'm so done with this company. I'll figure out a way to get my money and I can assure you that I will never do business with this company again charge you for everything big time joke and scam. I'll be putting negative comments on all social media platforms.

    My son gave me a Netspend Visa card for $100 at Christmas. I am almost 80 and disabled. I do not go shopping very often. I decided to activate this card and had to give them information they really did not need, including my SSN. I checked on line to see what to do. I found an accounting that shows they have deducted $5.95 for March and April which leaves a balance of $88.10. They have probably charged me again for May. They have taken money from my account for me not doing anything!!! I call their number and got some woman that could not tell me anything, not even where the company is registered. Since their corporate offices are in Texas, I assume that is where they are registered. I will be contacting your Secretary of State with this issue, it is criminal If I could give them less than one star I would.

    They sell the Prepaid Visa Card but never tell you upfront that a social security number is required and necessary to Activate the card. If you are foreigner you do not have a SSN so you won’t be able to activate the card and you loose your money. The robot is the only form of communication until you request a refund. The the person told me that I have to send a photo of my passport or ID but then transferred me to another agent and this agent told me that el without a SSN it will be imposible to activate. When I asked to refund the deposited amount to my credit card, he said that the only method is by sending a check after 7 days. To me this is an illegal practice. I felt ripped off. I guess many people had already this bad experience with NETSPEND. I want to add to this review. As they said they sent a check to pay back the amount deposited. They will not reimburse the cost of the card. When I received the check it says NOT ELEGIBLE FOR MOBILE DEPOSIT. In other words you have to present it to a cashier, must be in the USA. If all this happened because I am not a US citizen and don’t have SS number. Then they send a check that you have to deposit in person. They just do not care about their customer or it is a scam to take your money?

    They locked my account when I'm 150 miles from home and I jumped through hoops did everything asked and still I can't touch my own money I will not be using them anylonger after I can get my money out. Customer for years and I was hung up on 4 times. You should be ashamed of your customer service. No stars is not an option.
