Wow Never thought I would experience such a one sided approach to being a childs advocate. Her services would be better described as advocate of child determined by person whos lawyer sends me more business. God bless our children. From out experience it would seem she made a living out of spreading misery to vulnerable families Geez

Leslie understands children and teens. She gave my daughters a safe place to express themselves. I am so grateful they were allowed to find their voices.

Leslie Smith is the absolute worst counselor to have on a child custody case.  She worked on my child's case and it was surprising how she chooses one side over.  If you are from westlake and she thinks she can get more money and referrals out of you she will do whatever you want.  She ignored all the sign of addiction from the other side and did everything she could to make the court case about her.  She is soulless.

Unfortunately, the court ordered Leslie Smith to be the counselor for my children. I looked up reviews and found some very disturbing ones!  I have to say that they were right on about her.  She was unbelievably hard on my children and had them crying when they had to see her.  My children refuse to see her now because they do not trust her at all.   Their emotional well being and behavior has deteriorated significantly since being under her rule for one year.  She was very out of touch and could not remember what had been discussed in the past and she was more concerned about getting paid $125 hr than helping my children through a very difficult time.  She was expensive and destructive and so fake as a person who initially put on a nice face but, quickly showed her true colors.  It was shocking how she treated me and my children and how she had a very biased attitude.  I finally won my hearing but, my children are scared for life from the things that this women said to them and threatened them with.  If you have any way of getting her off your case, do it!  Be afraid...be Very Afraid! Never be alone in a room with her....record all conversations with her ( even though she will make you sign a paper in the beginning to not record her... it is legal in the state of Texas to record if you are a party to the conversation) and have someone else at the meetings with you.  She may make very off accusations as to what you have said in your meetings and try to sway a judge to believe her story.  I could not believe that any counselor would act the way she did on a regular basis.  If you are stuck with her by the court system, please leave a review to help warn others of your experience with her.  I believed the horrible reviews that I had read about her but, could not get her off my case.  I hope she reads enough of these reviews and changes her ways!

I write this review after much time,  thought and consideration.  Leslie Smith served as a facilitator between me and my ex-spouse.  What was supposed to be co-parenting advice and recommendations for improved co-parenting quickly turned into a custody battle.  A custody battle that she pushed, because that is really the only thing my ex-spouse wanted.  He did not want to work on behaving in a positive manner in public around me and our child; and he didn't want to pay child support.  I found out very quickly that she sides with the person whose attorney hires her - hence, my ex-spouse.  She made several co-parenting recommendations that were ruled as really bad recommendations by other counselors.  Further to that, she allowed my ex-spouse to berate me during our session.  End result - a custody battle, when there didn't need to be one.  I would NEVER recommend Leslie Smith as a facilitator or child therapist.  It is my belief that she did not have my child's best interest at heart, but rather the best interest of the one who was recommending and paying her.
