Terrible coverage. Abysmal customer service.
I cannot stress enough how bad this company is.
Precisely 0 of our family of 5's health bills were covered on their first run last year. We are still trying to get them to *acknowledge* an in-network ER bill from 8 months ago.
They have repeatedly guaranteed us coverage for things that we pre-notified them for and then denied coverage when the provider billed them. Their customer service agents constantly contradict themselves. Nobody seems to know what's going on, and as a result, their coverage was less than useless to us.
We still have over $6,000 of outstanding health bills from the past year because FirstCare won't respond when the providers bill them. We get weekly calls from collectors over issues that are 0% our fault.
The worst part is, we didn't require any kind of exceptional health services last year. Everything was pretty normal and minor.
We've spent weeks' worth of hours on the phone with their customer service (and our health providers, but mostly FirstCare) over the past year trying to resolve these issues. The only common element: FirstCare. I could understand one or two of our health providers billing things wrong or being disorganized, but it's impossible for all of them to be this incompetent. No, it is FirstCare.
Stay FAR away.
