Solar Leather Machines

Bought a cowboy 3200 in January. I can’t say enough good things about the machine it has been a pleasure to sew on. The team at Solar leather had it set up perfectly. Would highly recommend to anyone who is sewing medium to heavy leather.

Date of this post 12 may 2019. On 2 may, I ordered a basic CB3200, setup with #346 thread. I spoke with Alex and he got the ball rolling with my order and delivery. I was left with no questions or doubts and had a clear understanding of what i was getting and how things were to play out. I am ex-military, ex-corporate management and a retired business owner. I immediately recognized Alex's bearing and approach to the mission of supplying a customer with a product and education. It's a method that works in many circles yet has a grating effect on some people. I wasn't put off, I was actually relieved to be in the presence of confidence and clarity. I haven't yet received my machine, but I feel confident that things will all come together. I'll be sharing my unvarnished opinions about my transaction in future postings. Friday may 7, i just got my cb3200 up and running. Wow, this thing is a tank ! It unmercifully plows through thick layers of fabrics and leather, with delicate controll. This opens up a whole new set of abilities I've always wished for. There is a learning curve with the motor settings. The online manual covers all the subtle nuances of how to dial in the starting speeds and running speeds. I insist that you clean and lubricate every moving part before starting, it makes a big difference. Buy some 6 inch long, wood stick, Q-Tips on amazon. That allows for exact pinpoint cleaning in hard to reach areas, you gun owners and machinists know what i mean. An oiling squeeze bottle with a long extendable tube (amazon) will give you precise lubrication ability. Nevermind the bad reviews, those people show up with a bad attitude to begin with and radiate friction on everything around them. Alex answered my many questions with clarity and professionalism. He knows his facts and will tell you the truth, whether you like it or not, so get over it ! 19 May. With #346 thread, I sewed through 2 layers if 1/8 clear vinyl, too easy. 6 layers of #1, 30oz canvas (heaviest type) with 2 layers of seatbelt strap in between, ZERO problems ! 4 layers of 1/8 rawhide leather was like butter. If you are still on the fence about getting one of these machines, you're just neurotic. Get some !

The first time I talked to Alexander, I knew that this was the place for me to buy a machine. He offered for me to come in and sew with my machine before I picked it up, and showed me how to maintain it. I purchased my machine several years ago, and recently needed some trouble shooting help. Within 2 minutes Alexander had me up and going again. The customer service and knowledge of the products being sold are like no other business I have seen. I would recommend this business to newbies and old hands!

I recently purchased a CB4500 machine from Solar Leather. It was promptly shipped, very well packed, and assembly instructions were very clear and easy to understand. So far I have sewn very thick leather and notoriously difficult-to-sew biothane webbing with ease. The machine was perfectly set up and Solar Leather’s support page has videos that answer any questions one might have about threading and such. This machine is excellent. Thank you Solar Leather for making these available and so easy to purchase.
