Senior Recreation Center New York

This place is a hot mess. It has a few activities, but they are not appealing. Example: The ice cream social where they serve you vanilla ice cream with nasty candy thrown in (they choose the junk - you don't get a choice) ugh! Then you listen to an irrelevant commercial presentation. I'll pass and go to Braum's instead. The weight room is small and doesn't have much equipment. Some of the equipment is broken and needs to be repaired or replaced. They are very disorganized. Example: I paid in advance for meals, and they ran out of food. I enjoyed the ladies that I ate with, but the food was horrible and I quit when they ran out of food. I really feel sorry for the people that don't have other choices. If you are medicare age, use your Silver Sneakers benefit from your supplement insurance and go somewhere else. Update: The Hugh Smith Recreation was demolished and a new East Side Library and Recreation center were built nearby. There are NO senior recreation centers in Arlington.
