Elegancia Homes

Poor customer service. We bought a home built by Elegancia Homes, listed with Harbin Properties in March 2017. The home appealed to us aesthetically and we liked the location in Potosi Prairie. The site did not have grass or any form of landscaping, and there was no fence. Since this was not uncommon for new homes in the neighborhood, we requested hydroseed and a fence, which JC agreed to add to the contract. When we moved in a month later, the fence was built, but there was still no hydroseed. The yard was littered with scrap wood, plastic construction wrap, beer cans, water bottles, rusty nails and screws and other trash. The area around the septic tank had eroded and formed a pit, and the front yard and part of the driveway had not been graded properly, and filled with water with each rainfall. It was explained to us that the hydroseed had not been done yet because they wanted to wait for us to move in so that we would be there to water. Every few weeks, I would call Juan Carlos to ask when he would send a contractor to hydroseed. After a few months of waiting, I asked our agent to contact him, and of course he answered her call right away. He made excuses about scheduling and peak season, but agreed to make it a priority. Several weeks later, he sent a worker out who allegedly spread some dry form of weed round-up and instructed us to water the entire ¾ acre lot every day. We did, but when the weeds persisted, he was quick to blame us, saying that since we didn’t buy a sprinkler system through him, the weed killer wouldn’t work, and he wouldn’t guarantee the lawn. After a couple months of back-and-forth, he said it was too late in the season and that he would take care of it first thing in the spring. Here we are, a year after buying the house, and still no work done on the lawn. I am currently deployed overseas and can’t deal with this. JC now blames us for not cutting the weeds, and says he won’t lift a finger until that’s done and the yard is tilled and ready to seed. We have been dealing with this situation over a year now. Mowing weeds and wild grass has not been fun. He is not being professional with us or our realtor.

One of the best home building companies I have ever had my house built by. JC and his team are very professional, extremely knowledgeable and the whole building process was super smooth. My family and I love our home and if in time we want to build again, we will definitely build with Elegancia Homes. Highly recommend to build your home with. Bryan Fortes
