I am so sorry for your bad experience. As the owner, I can understand your frustration and I am truly sorry for the bad experience. However, if your insurance or your prescription "coupon " cannot pay us the cost of your prescription, we cannot fill it, otherwise we cannot keep our doors open to serve the community. While I completely understand this is not your fault and sincerely apologize that this wasn't conveyed to you in a manner in which you didn't consider "nice" I firmly stand by my staff in refusing to fill your prescription. Unfortunately you can't believe what you see or hear on the television or radio about prescriptions, particularly those regarding weight loss or controlled substances. We have to follow not only state law, but federal law regarding dispensing and reimbursement. We aren't asking to make ANY money off the prescription, just the amount it costs us to purchase the medication. While you may consider this to be "RUDE", I call it a smart business decision because at the end of the day, I cannot serve my patients or community if I dispense every medication at a cost below my purchase cost. Perhaps your frustration should be better directed at your insurance company or the prescription "coupon " company.
