One of the great joys of living in Tennessee is visiting the wonderful state parks (not that you have to be from Tennessee). Edgar Evans State Park is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This is my first time visiting the park and I can tell you that this will not be the last visit I make here. The park staff are wonderful and the cabins are spacious and clean. The views are lovely. There is a playground, camping, communal fire rings, pavilions, kayaking, a marina, hunting, hiking, and fishing here. Basically something for everyone. While the kids complained initially about the limited WiFi access, I found this a bonus.

We stayed in one of the handicap cabins! It was great! My 16 year old son is in a wheelchair and it was great accommodations for him. There was only one thing that was a big bummer for him. There is no ramp or way down to the fire pits. There is a way down to the pool but not to the fire pits. We did try to take him down the grass hill one of the evenings but it was very unsafe due to the ground having so many big divots! Divots and a hill scared me! My other kids thoroughly enjoyed the swings and fire pits though! It wasnt a deal breaker and we would likely come back, but we were a bit surprised there wasnt a path down, especially considering how nice the ramps to the cabin and cabins themselves were for him!

I adore this location. visited this place for more than 5 years. Wonderful folks that are always willing to help, and fishing is amazing
