Nice job, very professional, knew what they were doing as opposed to two other companies in the area that I have used previously.

It looks like Southern Irrigation is still having the same issues discussed in all the other poor reviews. Like a lot of other customers, I'd like to recommend getting a quote BEFORE any work is done. They charge $85hr and that includes just driving out to your house to look and not do anything (trip charge). They do the work and then send you an invoice without discussing fees first (even auto mechanics have to get approval for cost if it's going to be over a certain amount). So, if you're having anything done other than routine maintenance, you might get an unpleasant surprise. My bill was over $400.00 and my system worked for one day. The tech had to come back out to install a part he didn't have to begin with, he took a look at everything and said our pump has now gone out (apparently in the few days since he was there the first time) and now I have to call an electrician since their technicians aren't insured to work on 240v. He never did get to install that last part, and when I was told that I would be charged yet ANOTHER $85 for that trip, I told them to forget it and we would use another company to finish the job. When asked about the fees, the response I got was "that's the way it's always been". In addition to all of that, I requested someone to come and open my system up via their website and didn't hear back from anyone for two weeks. Then out of the blue, I got a text saying a technician would be at my house the next day...no setting up an appointment or even a decent amount of notice. Gave 1 extra star because our technician was on time, friendly and knowledgeable....it's the billing and office staff that seem to have the problems.

The water company put a lock on my back flow last fall because it failed. They told me it was a simple fix, something they see all the time and shouldn’t cost more than $50. We were out of the country at the time and called Southern Irrigation to come fix it so we could get the lock off. I received a bill for $269.38 and was given this itemized invoice : Irrigation Repair$85.00 Irrigation Technician- Installed backflow repair kit. Backflow has a lock on it from city. 1 X $85 Irrigation Material$184.38 Backflow repair kit 1 X $184.38 (Their invoice clearly notes that a lock was in place from the city at the time they came to repair it.) The sum of this bill was quite shocking to me as I was expecting the $50 fix the water company had hinted towards. Because I was out of the country, (which Southern Irrigation knew) I had to take their word for it. I paid them in full and figured that was that. Upon returning home, the lock was still on the back flow device but we didn’t worry about it because we hadn’t been using our irrigation in the first place and were heading into cooler fall temps anyway… It wasn’t a pressing concern or something we prioritized. Here we are the following spring and I had a few shrubs installed and decided to go ahead and turn on my irrigation so I didn’t have to hand water them. I realized the lock was still on my device so I called the city to come take it off for the season. Well, they came out today and it STILL FAILED! I called Southern Irrigation and asked them if they’d come fix it because it still wasn’t passing. After a back and forth over the phone, the short answer is that they won’t honor or guarantee the work they did and now want to charge me an additional $500+ labor and god knows what else to just replace the back flow all together! WHAT?! How does a $50 fix turn into a thousand dollars?! The lock was never removed which means no one has touched the back flow since they supposedly fixed it. So I paid them $269.38 and it was never fixed. Money I might as well have thrown into the wind. I'll be calling someone else.

Southern Irrigation was one of three bids that we received to complete landscape lighting around our house, patio and new pool. Their bid was somewhat higher than everyone else, not by much, but was still the highest. We decided to go with Southern Irrigation because they immediately called us back after placing the inquiry online. They came out to take a look at our property within a couple days. Our rep was very knowledgeable and his attitude was nice & pleasant, clean cut and a very professional demeanor and appearance from the moment he arrived. The others had a condescending attitude and never offered suggestions, only what do you want and we had to give ideas. His crew worked nonstop for two days (which was quicker than expected but who complains with anyone getting the job you pay for done quicker than anticipated) and once it was dark, the lights came on, and everything was exactly as he said. We couldn't be happier and so glad we went with Southern Irrigation!
