Started out with a few rough edges, but the staff worked to iron things out eventually. The lobby atmosphere is historic and the rooms are unique. The evening lobby entertainment was interesting and the restaurant dishes though expensive were excellently prepared. Everything SoBro was right down the street and that was convenient. Overall, an enjoyable 3 night stay.

If I could give this hotel less stars, I would. We booked this hotel over a week in advance through their website so we wouldn't have the possibility of being overbooked through a third party. We were incredibly excited to stay in such a historical building and had been talking about it all week. We live almost 8 hours away. We arrived 2 hours after their earliest check in time and they had given our room away. They did not try to contact us in any way to let us know that they were going to do so or give us time to find another suitable hotel to stay in for the night. The front desk people were rude and cocky, laughing when they told us that they were "at capacity for the night" and proceeded to tell us we were being walked to a sister hotel. Even though they claimed they would be comping the room, we were still overcharged for a very disgusting, small, dated room at the Virgin Hotel that we have yet to see any refund for. Do not waste your time booking a room here because they do not care about reservations at all. Their customer service is atrocious at best. -5/10 would not recommend and would never attempt to stay here again.
