An Envision/Sheridan-managed anesthesiologist at Jupiter Medical Center, Ashleigh Graham, charged $14,152 for his/her service, which included a brief visit and a shot. We asked Envision/Sheridan for clarification on this $14,152 charge from Graham, because the itemized bill wed requested didnt have any items, just the $14,152 charge.Did the $14,152 include the drugs used? Nope.Luis at Envision/Sheridan took a guess that the $14,152 might be for any other services. I asked what those services might be. Luis had no idea. After some digging, I found out the doctor was billing for 784 MINUTES of work.784 minutes = 13 hours. Thats crazy. We inquired further. We wanted to see a time sheet or record of time spent by the doctor, something that corroborated the 13-hours claim. And Envision/Sheridan personnel (Nieves Alegre and Rene Davis and Vannessa Altamirano) at first said theyd get us some data or proof. But then Rene, Vanessa and Nieves explained that they will NOT provide any evidence or time sheets or proof. Their position: we bill for the time. I asked if I could see some records that prove the time was really worked. Envision/Sheridan/Graham refuse to provide anything. But Vanessa did offer this comforting explanation: the anesthesiologists are attending multiple patients so they do not need to be in the room for the whole time we are billing. Ah, great. So the doctor can be working on other patients but still bill each one for a full 13-hour shift (at over $1,000 per hour?). Thats like a lawyer seeing one client for 15 minutes and billing him for 13 hours while he actually works on a bunch of other clients. Is that not fraud? Weve asked 8 times for the doctors contact info, so we can raise this with the doctor. Envision refuses to provide contact info for the doctor, their client (in fact, they say they dont have it). Update: Rene Davis on Aug 10 emailed us to say shed check for us to get us contact info for the doctor and that shed follow up with us. She never did. It's been two months. A sad place.

I unfortunately became a victim of Envision's surprise medical bill scheme, where undisclosed to me, my physician during an emergency visit to a hospital was not part of the hospital pay roll. ER visitors do not have a choice. This is entrapment. The bill was of course exploitative in cost for the 2 mins that the Dr spent on my case, and exaggerated the level of emergency from 4 to 5 from the hospital's billing. I have since, called, e-mailed and filled out the contact form to discuss the matter with a competent staff member, to no avail. This company violates every aspect of the Hippocratic principles and has no accountability. It feels more fraudulent that anything else.
