Artscapes By Design

BJ and his crew did an awesome job installing pavers and a seating wall in our small back yard. They spent time grading properly and keeping us advised of everything they were doing. The quality is awesome, and we are thrilled with the result. Thanks. Sue and Beth

We used Artscapes by Design back in 2020 to build a walking path from our front porch to the sidewalk as well as to build new flowerbeds throughout our front yard. The stone path was well done and the flowerbeds looked nice. When the project was done the only problem we had was the new tree that was supposed to be in the center of the yard was several feet off to the side.  BJ would not accept any responsibility for this and charged us to move it to the place we wanted it. While I felt this was unbelievably petty for a contractor to charge for this after spending thousands of dollars with him I simply paid and moved on. The real problem began when growing season started. The work was originally done in January 2020 so it wasn't until April or May that we noticed a lot of weeds and grass growing in our flowerbed. This shouldn't have been happening as we had asked for and paid for a landscaping barrier to be installed in the beds. We dug down and found there was nothing between the dirt and the mulch to prevent weed growth whatsoever. The contractor simply cut that corner and gave us beds that had no weed barrier. So we ended up having to install landscape matting ourselves at great difficulty due to having to work around our now established flowerbeds. So while I think this contractor is skilled and has the capability to do good work I feel like he was dishonest and petty with us and would not recommend using him.
