I was in Knoxville a few weeks ago for a funeral. I did not have time before I left town to get my suit cleaned and realized that a few stitches needed to be fixed on my pants belt loop. I was recommended to try Deluxe Dry Cleaners. I went in person on a Thursday and asked to get my suit ready by end of day Friday. I told the clerk if I was asking too much on short notice that it would be no problem for me to find another option. He told me that it was a minor repair and that it should be done within a day. He told me to come back anytime after 3pm the following day (Friday). They are closed on weekends and I knew this going in which is why I asked first. He collected my information and I left. I returned a bit after 3pm the next day and the same clerk was there, recognized me, and got my suit. When he returned to the counter he said "It looks like the pants didn't make it back in time. They probably won't be ready until Monday or maybe even Tuesday." I was stunned, but I calmly said that wouldn't work for me as I had a funeral the next day and then was returning home so I asked to just get the pants back as-is. He said the pants were at another location. I asked him to check with that location and he told me that he didn't know the phone number. I then googled the location and was unable to find it online. I started naming a few other locations and he said to try one where a family member worked who could get the correct number. The family member gave me a number, I dialed, and I kid you not, the phone in the store where I was standing starts to ring. After another attempt with the family member I get the right number. I was asked for details on the situation, asked my name, and was put on hold to locate the pants. After a while the other location informs me that the pants must have gone to a central location for the alteration and that facility was closed and no one could get in there until Monday. I asked if I could speak with a manager and they said that ALL managers at all stores had left for the weekend and would not be back until Monday. I get off the phone, tell the clerk my best option now was to buy a new suit. I told him because this was going to cost me a lot more, that I didn't think I should have to pay for the cleaned clothes and he agreed and told me he wasn't planning on charging me since they messed up. I called him a few minutes later and told him that I would like for them to hold on to the pants and we could figure out a way for me to get them back later. On the morning of my friend's funeral, I spent about $150 on a new suit. I called the following week and spoke with a manager. Before I could get into many details she said "You're the pants guy. The pants are ready and you can pick them up anytime." I told her I didn't live anywhere near Knoxville and would like for them to ship the pants to me. She asked where I lived and when I told her she said "Well I know he won't pay for that." To clarify I asked if she meant the owner won't pay for that, and she said yes. At this point I was done trying to figure something out so I told her I would fine someone local to pick them up. This morning my friend in Knoxville told me that he went to pick up the pants and they charged him money. He tried to argue against it, but he said they would not give him the pants without him paying for it. If I had been told from the beginning or even received a phone call at some point when Deluxe Cleaners realized that the pants would not be ready at the promised time, I could have saved myself $150 (plus whatever my friend just paid), and hours of frustration during a difficult time for me. At no point did anyone try to contact me and help figure something out, and I've received no empathy for my situation since. I will certainly never recommend Deluxe Dry Cleaners, and am now trying to help people in Knoxville avoid them at all costs.

I just started using this friendly, family owned and operated dry cleaner a few months ago and couldn't be more delighted with their great customer service, quality cleaning and reasonable pricing. I was having a huge problem finding a cleaner with quick turn around that didn't over charge, and after trying a few other places, they are definitely the ones for me! They make certain my husband's dry cleaning is ready to go every week and are a true life, and time, saver.
