Had to take my 91 yr old grandmother in law to ER Saturday, we arrived around 430pm, sit out in waiting room until after 11 pm, they took her in the back finally around 1130 gave breathing treatment and discharged. Got her home just before 1am. She had to pull the iv port out of her arm next morning! Her brother took her to Indian path 2 days later where they kept her. Staff at Holston Valley was nice but it is Ridiculous the way they treat the elderly.! Will try my best to never go back there again!!

Their reception its aren't good at taking information and send bills to wrong address billing generally turn people in to collections as result not telling patients. Also they want money up front or slap extra fees should someone be deadly sick or not it's all bout the money less about patients care at times. If someone's vitals were extreme they just make them wait do nothing for them ie blood pressure if it were heart attack level or other serious things. Disappointed with their way of operations.

They will leave you sitting for hours in the waiting room. Will give the excuse they are busy and only one or two doctors. Don't come here unless you have a clear schedule for your whole day. Pathetic.

I came in on an ambulance unable to sit up due to what ended up being a Deep vain clot that was found to be stretching from my leg, through my abdomen and just shy of reaching my heart. Upon my arrival, the ambulance drivers were told "triage" in witch i was expected to sit in the lobby in a wheelchair in witch was impossible for me to do. The ambulance drivers pushed back on this giving my condition and me being fresh out from a spinal fusion and the possible life threatening difficulties I had at that time where clots was passing through my heart and into my lungs. In the ER, I felt they did a pretty good job and my nightmare didn't really begin until the next day when I was placed in my room #33N on the 3rd floor. I was under the care of the ETSU group in witch was an Indian decent doctor with a group of 4 interns and the short story is my insurance was brought up about as much as my care. I felt this was a factor contributing to the lack of care provided and a reason they ignored the notes that physical therapy had clearly posted and pinned and at one point was discharging me while turning a blind eye on critical information and even discrediting my claims in witch discrediting their own staff. I requested a second opinion and only took me repeating that and ultimately going to the higher up to have that done. Unfortunately I got DR. Vert or bert (if I'm spelling that correctly) but was disappointed when he came in to mimic the previous DR and not even asking questions. Once again my concerns pointed out by there own staff was shaken off and I was then moved to be discharged again (still unable to sit up). The nurses again refused to discharge me giving my condition and I spoke with a nice lady about 10p.m who determines if a discharge was the right thing to do and she determines that I shouldn't be discharged and would be back the following morning to speak with me. Before she made it in the next day, dr vert was quick to get me out of there. Was told by the discharge lady that if I wanted to stay, would be $2,100 per day and paid in advance daily. Again this is the short form. Lastly dr vert broke the patient confidentiality by sharing information out loud from the hallway of my room. I will gladly speak to staff on this subject to fill in the full story but never will I be back to this place
